The Brockley Mess Cafè
The Brockley Mess offers something a bit different from the usual high street café. Art works from different artists are displayed in the garden area. The 2016 project is part of The Brockley Street Art Festval, having been organised by local residents working in partnership with Londonist, the annual Brockley Max festival and Global Street Art.
The piece currently on show has been created by bAMBOpINK an art and design collective specialising in large scale paintings, murals and bespoke designs for interior, exterior, public and private spaces.
As well as the ubiquitous full English, you’ll also find delicious alternatives such as Eggs Benedict, French Toast and their Mexican-influenced Breakfast Burrito. Daily hot lunch specials range from freshly-made baguettes to delicious home-made cakes. All teas are loose leaf, made in the pot, and coffee is always freshly-ground. At least 50% of their menu is vegetarian, smaller size portions are an option for children.
The well-thought-out wine list, courtesy of ‘Theatre of Wine’, features great wines from Italy, Australia and Chile. The Brockley Mess are known for supporting local businesses, stocking a range from Meantime brewery in Greenwich, plus Peroni and Corona, and some more unusual beers such as Negro Modela and Veddett. They also have a selection of spirits, mixers and soft drinks.
